Have you been as a neighborhood to a city council meeting? Bring your video camera and microphones and a list of questions. Got to go as a neighborhood, though, otherwise, they will divide and conquer you. And don't fall for having the elected officials come to your neighborhood, that's also a New Paltz type joke. You have to get yourselves on Television at the city council meeting.

Has anybody in addition to me gone to the county real property web site to look up 54 Franklin Street? It is on the web site of the county, the Kingston assessment Roll. Unfortunately, you can't look the roll members up by address, although the assessment roll could be arranged that way instead of by number or last name. Get it? They, the elected officials, have made it as difficult as possible to get the information on 54 Franklin Street as possible. You had six months to straighten it out too? You have to go down to the Assessor office at City hall, and ask for the folder on 54 Franklin Street Who is your ward leader? Probably don't know that either, and even if you did, the ward leader has probably never met the assessor, as the assessor just came on board from Rosendale. You folks ever been to Rosendale, let alone the assessor office? You will still be complaining in six months, and never seen the folder on 54 Franklin Street in the Assessor office in City Hall. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him think.

Like I told you six months ago, this week, tomorrow Tuesday, May 22, is Grievance Day. you see, at the bottom of the page, Bonnie Prince Charlie said to go to the assessor office, find out the names of the people who own the place, their address, how much the land is worth, how much the total value is and grieve on Grievance Day, tomorrow, before the Board of Assessment Review, the only day of the year you can do this? Six months ago, at the bottom of this page. And here you are, six months later. I have already taken care of my place with the assessor, but then, I don't live in Kingston.

I live in a tear-down. What's wrong with that? Of course, my tear-down is in New Paltz, and the developers would love to buy the property, tear down the house and develop the land for cash paying students. It's a racket, you know, no commercial property taxes, shrubbery ladies and community improvement teams that will drive right over you to get to the next trimming bush. We love it.

54 Franklin St.This house isnt lived in anymore..The owners in Georgia and doesnt care. The bank keeps putting it up for auction and apparently it isnt selling. So my only advice to you is this... If you want it cleaned up your going to have to do it yourselves because nobody else cares enough too. 34 Franklin St. This house was in the process of a sale but something went wrong at the last minute and it didnt sell. This home owner also doesnt care BUT in all fairness...ALL of that mess came from Joe the drug dealer on the left side of the house. AGAIN i dont see that getting cleaned up either.

The reason that Lucy is like this is because she is MENTALLY ILL. Her children were taken away from her because she is MENTALLY ILL. Not hurting anyone? I saw her pitch a stone at a man on a bicycle. I will keep saying it; she needs to be placed in a facility where she can get treatment and medication. True sympathy is getting her the helps she needs, not tolerating her bad behavior.

Everyone is talking about their children here..the reason Lucy is like this is because she is angry that her children were taking from her, she doesnt hurt people she is just angry. I use to be her neighbor some time ago when she still had her children but i do not know the situation that lead to their removal..all i know is she did love her children when i knew her and shes in pain and probably will be for the rest of her life. I know being woken up is an inconvience as i also live on Cedar St but just try alittle sympathy thats all.

Kingston's law makers (alderman's) past these laws on dog waste and pick up and most people abide by the law and pick up, some don't they should be ticketed. the dog park was talked about but were is it?

This is exactly why dogs will be allowed fewer and fewer places! Dog owners, pick up after your dogs! This is part of the responsibility of owning a dog. You are ruining it for dogs and dog owners everywhere.

Trains are under federal regulations. There is nothing the Freeman, or even the state of NY can do to help you about that. Conductors have a specific pattern of whistle blows. I suggest you buy some earplugs or move.

Hopefully this new Mayor will get more involved in this park named after his brother because it is beautiful and peaceful.It is a wonderful place for the older people to visit and enjoy.
Dogs not being allowed is another issue that people constantly ignore and bring their dogs in and we watch as their dogs do their duty and yes it is left there..nice huh?no respect whatsoever.
Mariner's is a pretty place and their customers kind has cleaned up some as their customers come out and enjoy the park after dinner.
HELP JUST HELP KEEP THIS BEAUTIFUL.Maybe a police officer could be on foot more often around the park area ,this would help keep out the bad elements of society. -

I agree that dogs should not be pooping on someone's lawn...so if it's happening you should say something to your neighbor. The reluctance to say something to her makes me think you have nothing to actually complain about. If it was true, why wouldn't you just go talk to her?

@ Kingston Mom, I have seen these dogs on a neighbors yard, once I saw it take a dump on that person's property.(AND I DID NOT SEE THE MAN W/ THEM PICK UP THE POOP) For all I know it could have been Joe's (just saying). If your going to have a dog or dogs you should be totally responsible dog owner and neighbor. There are kids on this block that I see often playing outside.i often worry about their safety. The point I guess I am trying to make is no one should have to come home and find dog poop in their own property. She should have the common sense to clean up after her dogs and actually walk them with a leash. Dogs need exercise and I don't mean pooping and running around on the front lawn.

@Joe Look, all I'm saying is that you should say something to your neighbor if this really bothers you. We live in a small community and have the opportunity to actually know our neighbors. Maybe get to know her? Express your concerns to her instead of complaining on this site where she probably isn't seeing it...
Think of it like this: If you lived in an apartment building and had a neighbor who made too much noise, wouldn't you first ask your neighbor to keep it down before complaining to the landlord?
If you want something to change, say something to your neighbor. I have spoken to her on several occasions...she seems really nice! Plus, unless the dog warden actually sees these dogs in someone else's yard and off-leash, he isn't going to do anything.

@KngstonMom feel free to come pick up the waste they left in my yard. The last 2 days the dogs have been on a leash so some progress has been made.

Tomorrow is Grievance Day, and Tuesday, Grievance Day, you can walk in and apply right then and there, you don't need an appointment, the forms are in the office, all you have to do is sign your name on the application, say this tear-down abandoned house in your neighborhood brings the value of all the properties down to zero, and you will not have to pay the inflated taxes on property you are now. Tomorrow, and tomorrow only. Otherwise, you will have to wait another 365 days to file next year. You wanna do that? The office is still open right now, at quarter to four on Monday. Go.
