NW 27th Ave is a County road. Your residence is within city limits, but every street is categorized as either private, city, county, state, etc. IE: NW 27th and 28th Place are City roads at the barrier of your zone (blue area on attached image). In the attached image, green roads are County, black roads are City, yellow are private.

Mr. Barr:

Thank you for contacting Alachua County Public Works about the maintenance responsibility of NW 27 AV off of NW 51 ST.

The sign you are reference was installed on Nov. 13, 2018, to prevent confusion regarding the County’s maintenance limits of NW 27 AV. Per the County’s Right-of-way Specialists at the time the section of NW 27 ST maintained by the County is as follows:

NW 27 ST east of NW 51 Street by the Northwest Professional Center plat recorded in PB “J/45” & an additional 25’ from the Boy’s Club per OR Book 2070, page 682 at the intersection with NW 51 Street, running easterly along the curve for a total of 50-feet in width. The County’s maintenance responsibilities stop at the east end of the professional center, 822.85 feet from the east R/W line of NW 51 Street, according to the said plat.

Due to annexation the City maintains the extension of NW 27 AV by the plat of Buck Ridge Unit 2, recorded in Plat Book “R/31”. See Attached.
