I too would think a turn light would be a benifit at this intersection. The traffic now adays is so much more hectic then it was in my youth. Better lights and more enforcement is needed.

I noticed that the wall across the street of the Gosnold park also has some issues. The grass was getting out of hand in the front of the park too! It was almost as tall as my two walking mates. I will have to talk to my hero once again.

I drove this intersection today at noon the lane marking and yield signs are in compliance with standard highway markings. Also VDOT does not monitor this sight nor is it their problem to fix signs on city maintained streets

I agree with you 100 percent. This is a city issue and needs to be addressed. The city moniters this site and will take notice of this and make it correct. Just leave it open. Now that the new budget is passed, these things are going to get done.

nothing has been done,I see vehicles waiting to make a left hand turn behind the target to get around going through the main parking lot and stores, The entrance gets blocked by vehicles waiting to make a right hand turn on Mercury Blvd, so the cars waitin to turn left block traffic that is waiting to turn.

the property manager was contacted via a letter, and no response.

Speak to your park worker the next time you walk the dogs. See if they have any control over this lot. If they do, Have him get one of his litter collector/grass cutters to get a shovel and fix this. Beach time will be here in a week or two!

There is an ever growing homeless population in Hampton. The economy is hurting everyone. Hampton provides shelters for the homeless and they can always stay in the city parks. there is food, water, and showers/restrooms. there are exercise areas and other options for these people. There are campgrounds that these people can stay for free. Please keep this blog open and try to be helpfull to those who have had hard times.
